I have installed the flexalite electric cooling fan in my 95 YJ. In doing so the factory shroud was removed, the engine splash shield was attached to this. Once removed there is no good place to reattach it to. Currently I have it zip tied to the front trac bar. Do I need this shield? Seems like it would prevent some foriegn material from entering the engine compartment.

I don't have one on my 89 YJ. I would chunk it. But your engine bay will get pretty dirty after a good day of mudding. Especially in bumper-high liquid. If it's really bad, use some engine de-greaser and a hose to rinse it. I use Purple Power.

Yep, Purple Power rocks. It's the best thing that ever came about for keeping my gray top clean. Even removes some old stains! jered
