I went today to check on the progress with my paint job. All is going well except the starter soleniod melted down. I had been having problems with it not shutting off after it had warmed up. I thought it could be the coil, but now with soleniod failure, I think that might have been the problem. How often do these fail? I was thinking with the engine not shutting off, it could have been passing current through the alternator to the coil keeping it running, even with the key off. If I replace it and it keeps melting down, what could be the problem? All the wires are good to my knowledge, they are just circa 1983. I won't be able to work on it until I get it back from the paint booth. It's a 83 CJ7 w/258, thanks.[addsig]
