On my gals 93yj 4.0 5 speed there are two transmission mounts, one is approx 4 inches by 8 inches rubber block with two studs that go thru the skid plate and assembled with two nuts. The other (also goes thru the skid plate) mount in question is a stud threaded on both ends with a shoulder towards the center that has two round rubber isolators, five washers and three nuts. Can anyone tell me if this is for keeping the tranny level or some sort of anti-torque design when giving it the gas and releasing the clutch in first gear? The stealership wount have the part (stud) until tomorrow and was wondering if it would be okay to drive without it? Thanks, Frank

You are dead on. It prevents torquing of the transfer case. You can drive without it in there, just go easy on her or you will break the other rubber mount.

It's often called a tranny torque mount. Just take it easy during acceleration and you'll be fine.
