RE: Time waster
Hi, I cant figure this out.... but maybe you guys can.. Right now i have a hard top with soft upper window's 1993 wrangler (rounded corners). I am looking to get a soft top (wich i think have the non-rounded corners for the YJ). So in order for me to get the soft top i need to get new upper window frame's as well along with the new soft windows??? thanks!

Signature pic requirements
The soft top for a YJ has a rounded frame that the door closes onto.

If you want the factory style top then yes you need to get different upper doors.
To keep it simple, get a softop different than the factory top. The factory top used a squared off top door edge.
If you get a bestop Supertop or one that uses the rounded corners, they will work with your existing doors and if you ever got full metal doors they would work with those too.
Any soft top that says it will work with full steel doors will work with your existing setup.

The top which I had on my YJ when I bought it used has rounded corners. Must have already had an aftermarket top on it. Doesn't matter, I replaced it anyway.

misc. stuff and factory tj stuff for sale
Yes, factory YJ softops are squared off at the top rear edge of the doors. Bestop Supertop is common for the rounded corners like the factory hardtop.

This makes it so hard to buy a top. Any one wants to sell a black soft top? lol. How long would you say it takes to put on the soft top. Do you cary it with you in the jeep in the summer if your driving around with out any top? I might just get another hard top... Guy wants $375 for a used and i guess an ok condition hard top w/ rear wiper and defrost, Is that a good deal?

With a soft top you can fold it back, tuck the door tops behind the rear seat and have it all with you "just in case". Usually if the weather is going to hold good for a few days I leave the door tops at home.
TIP:
If I do carry the Door tops I unzip the windows just past the first corner, tuck them behind the seat up-side down and run a small chain thru the window and lock it to the roll bar.....I had a set stolen once while parked at the lake
