I'm running 31's on my 93 YJ and want to go up to 33 inch tires. I'd like to know if anyone has had any problems running 33's on the stock axles. I've been told and read about how weak the stock axles are and that the c-clips break often. I go off road a lot in the summer and don't want to break an axle. Am I better off waiting to get stronger axles? I'd eventually like to get a dana 60 rear and dana 44 front. Should I get gears to run the 33's or does it drive ok without them and what is the difference in gas mileage like with 31's compared to 33's. I used to have a 96 F-150 and the fuel mileage difference was huge.[addsig]

How good they will hold up will depend on how much you use the gas pedal..

If you're careful with the gas and don't use it too much they should hold up fine..

If you put a locker in them and start pounding on the throttle and putting alot of power through them they will break very quickly.[addsig]

I replaced the stock axle shafts with mosers, and replaced rear end gears with 4.10's. Runs great with 33's[addsig]

Are these axles expensive and how many splines do they have? I've heard of using an 8.8 inch rearend out of a Ford Explorer is fairly cheap and easy so I'm going to look into that.[addsig]
