Harness is fried, can I use one for an 86 and earlier CJ ? I no longer use the computer, as I have a Weber carb and the "Nutter bypass". It has the 258 6 cyl.

Welcome to jeepz.

The problem you may run in to between the two harnesses is that the CJ harness is AMC, and the YJ harness is Chrysler. A lot of things are different between the two, and I'd bet that it's more trouble that it's worth.

I guess I never even considered that. Thanks. What would be a good source for a harness? All I see in the various catalogs of Jeep parts (4WD, Quadratec, etc.) are harnesses for CJ's. Jegs offers 12 and 18 circuit universal harnesses by Painless Performance, or would I be better off with an original? Thanks for your help.

I use www.walcks4wd.com in PA for just about everything, especially the old CJ2A parts. I think his prices are better for most stuff.
