FOR SALE : MINT : (4)Brand New 15x10 Cragar Soft 8s

I just bought a pair of 44s, off an 89 FSJ. I want to gear them to 4.09, and I think replace the bearings/ seals etc since Ill have them apart.
( Not sure if I need to though, so what do you all think...?)

I see so many Dana 44s used in different applications, models makes etc as I scour the web, catalogs and mags. Im a bit confused as to which ring and pinion kit I need to buy, as well as overhaul kit. Quadratec is no help, becauses they list their products based on the vehicle. Now that I have axles from and 89 Wagoneer, I cant use that way of finding parts.

Do I just ignore everything, and just focus on the fact that the axles are Dana 44s, and all Dana 44 parts will fit regardless of the vehicle it was originally built for? Or is it a bit more complicated..?

thanks!

RE: Dana 44 parts buying Questions

It's pretty general when getting D44 parts for that application, there's nothing peculiar about it.

I've found the best prices here: http://www.completeoffroad.com/produ...2_dana_44.html

You can use the 'thick' ring and pinion sets if you want to use your stock tall-gear carriers, and avoid having to buy new carriers. I'll be going with two new spools for my 5.38's when they go in my D44's.
