i'm thinking SOA.!!! and i got a doner for some 44's

i know the idea for a SOA with 4" springs isnt good. but what if they were sagged out real bad? i have a buddie wih a cherokee i think it is. he plans on running it till it pukes. its got two dana 44's under it. how hard will it be to set these up for a SOA on my 88 wrangler sahara? i alrady have a crappy RC 4" under it. stock axles. and a SYE too. so other than drive shafts, pinion angle, and welding shock mounts and spring perches on the axles. what else do i need to know? how will this handle? do i need front and back tracking bars? i can fab them up no problem. i'm ok with torches and pretty spiffy with a welder. well let me know the thoughts on this one o' wise jeep people's. thanks all

I would go full width axles and 40" tires with that much lift, though that would require more mods like new engine, tranny, t-case, etc.. Also, if the rc springs are as bad as everyone makes them out to be, I wouldn't use them even for an soa. My best guess is that rc springs would not be very sturdy if they have sagged out that much. As for parts, there is steering...I think hi-steer is your best option. Also there are brake lines to deal with; other than that I don't really know what else you would need.

You'll get a ton of axlewrap if the springs are shot. That's a lot of lift for relatively narrow axles. Keep the spring height at 2.5" or under for a stable more useful rig.

Well, you have the springs, so I say go for it. Worst case, you'll have to put some new springs in it. I run some heavy duty Off Road Connection YJ springs that are supposed to be 2.5" lift. They are set up SOA. You will need traction bars for the rear no matter what kind of springs you run, so set them up with enough adjustment just in case you have to swap springs.
