I am Hercing my tub this weekend. I installed a new steel tub earlier this year and I have completely taken off the cheap paint that the tub came with. So now it is bar metal. My question is should I paint the tub first with some rust preventive primer and then scuff it up real good? Or should I just put the liner over the bar metal.
Thanks

When I did my tub i just ruffed up the factory paint. I don't see whay you would need rust resistant primer since with the Herculiner on there it should never het exposed anyways. I you ruffed up the metal while stripping the old paint, I'd just throw it on as is.
