89 YJ 4CYL INTAKE MANIFOLD QUESTION

i just inherited a 89 yj from a friend of mine (well kinda it was a deal i couldnt pass up) with a few problems that i am trying to get fixed. I have searched the forums and cant find the answer to this question so i apologize if it is a stupid one...i am just new to the jeep world and have always been a fs bronco guy, so i am having to start from scratch on the knowledge here...but anyways back to the question....

I need to replace the intake manifold and tb on the jeeps 2.5l 4cyl. I know the engine went from tbi to mpi in 92 i believe it was. Will the intake manifold and tb still work on my 89 from the newer set-up? Will i have to change over engine harnesses/ecu for this to work from a newer yj (different connections/set-up)?

You will have to change the engine harness and ECU. BEtter off sticking with '87-'90 parts.
