Yet another AX15 issue

I am still trying to figure out why my AX15 locks into 5th gear. I had to replace the counter 5th gear and synchronizer ring. At first the synchro was tight, so I found another one that fit like it was supposed to. When I shift into 5th, it will not release from 5th even in neutral. I can force it to release by going to 4Low and leaving the tranny in neutral.

I also replaced the needle bearing, synchro keys, springs, and thrust washer.

Just to check myself, which way does the thrust washer go on? One side is wider than the other. I know how it came off, but don't know what the previous owner of the tranny might have taken off and possibly put on wrong.

I would REALLY appreciate some help here.
