Lower Control Arm Swap Question

ok this has the potential of being a stupid question but sometimes the obvious slips away from us and thats why we have other gearheads as friends ... heres my question can LCA's be changed without jacking the axle and supporting anything ?? whats turning in my mind is the LCA is in the same situation on stands or on ground ?... now the reason for why i'm trying to steer away from the "right" way is because i dont have a garage currently in process of building .. and i'm working from my driveway which is soaked cause of rain lately ... so when i start jacking my jack sinks and and kicks off to one side .. same happens when i support it with boards ect.. nothing seems to keep it from kicking off .. even if i stand one side and go to the other that stand will kick out .. so i'm trying to find a way around ... thanks again

Re: Lower Control Arm Swap Question

You can't safely remove both at the same time. You might be able to do one at a time if there isn't much of a change in length. Doing one at a time, you have to tweak the axle housing a little bit to get the LCA holes to line up.

Otherwise you have to support the chassis and let the axle hang.
