Question SBC Swap....Clutch Linkage Question

Does anyone have any experience with the clutch likage setup for the chevy V8 swap into a CJ7?

I have this kit from advanced adapters that I bought a number of years ago which allows me to bolt the kit to the block so that the bell crank has something to attach to. So that is fine but the gap between the bell crank and the clutch release fork is only a few inches. I would have to do some serious hacking to the stock linkage to get the release rod and adjuster to fit in there.

Anyway is this normal? I haven't bought the clutch fork from Novak yet (they say I need this). Will that help? The motor is a 327, is that an issue?

Thanks!
