Question Stupid Newbie questions...

First off, hello all.
I've been lurking about for a while, but this is my first post. I am a new Jeep owner, and I have a 2002 Wrangler X. It's my everyday vehicle, but i do plan to take her out and get her dirty as hell. (nowhere near ready to climb the trails ive seen in your pics)(but i want to badly)
I have browsed the forum and have gathered that rather than nerf bars, one should get rock(er) rails if one plans to do any offroading. So, my stupid newb questions, Are rocker rails like nerf bars, but offer protection as well? Is there still a step up into the Jeep? also, any recomendations on which ones to buy??

Thanks!!!

Re: Stupid Newbie questions...

Some are, some aren't. It's really what you want or like the best. Some bolt to the body, some the frame, some both, some the body mounts. Mine are made by Body Armor they bolt to the body mounts. hope this helps some.

Re: Stupid Newbie questions...

IMO, the best would be those that bolt to the frame. You can check out Quadratec for some that bolt to the frame as well as have a step to help you into the Jeep. There are quite a few out there that I'm sure would work for you.

BTW, welcome to Jeepz!! Remember, the only stupid questions are the questions asked by Mingez!!
