Mount

:? :? Installed a 4" lift with 33" tires and am finding that the Passanger side Motor Mount is tilted and hitting the mount on the frame. What is the remedy for this? I am not having any vibrations but it just looks like it will be a big problem later. i can post a pic if need be when I get home.:? :?

Thanx

Re: Mount

bad mount? seems a bit extreme and dont remember seeing this problem b/4 on the forum in the las 3 yrs or so... i know my 6cyl w/the same setup eats stock mounts pretty regularly (thinking its from the angles caused by the t-case drop) - check the condition of the mount and maybe change them out - or you could try to reposition your xfer case as if its kicked over it would add an extra angle deflection to the side or twist (try loosening the xfer case mounts and driving it lightly around the block then snuggin em back up to true it to the driveline) - otherwise i'm clueless - hope i gave ya something to start with anyway... g'luck!

Re: Mount

The lift and tires shouldn't have affected the motor mount, unless you installed the transfer case drop. Sounds like you need to replace the motor mounts.

If the rubber is intact, the mounts look to be okay. You need to take the above advice to let the drivetrain shift back forward a little.

Talking Re: Mount

I was wondering if the one inch TC drop kit was even nedded with the 4" lift? If it is I'll give repositioning the xfer case a try when the weather warms up. Thanx for the help guys

Re: Mount

looking at both mounts - it seems that one is poking out the front and the other from the rear - twisted - so the t-case loosening exercise should help correct that - and as for the t-case drop - unless your planning on a slip yoke eliminator /cv shaft upgrade - you need the drop to help with the extreme driveline angles from the lift / short driveshaft combination.... without it you get vibrations you dont want and lots of experience doing u-joint repairs you dont need... g'luck and let us know...

Re: Mount

Well, I decided that since the mounts are cheap and I had the time. I went ahead and replaced the two motor mounts, tranny mount, and had few guys help align the t-case. All is good now, Thanx for the help all... I'll post pics when I can
