Check Engine Code Help
OK, guys... For the time being I swapped back to the 2.5L TB, and the engine is running a little better. The engine still stutters at about 4,000 RPM's, and will not go any higher than that (even while revving it up on neutral), but at least it is driveable now. But I am also getting a CHECK ENGINE light, and I cannot figure out what it is. I did the ignition switch thing, but I cannot figure out the number it is giving me, so I filmed a short video of it so that you guys can help me out.
If anyone is interested, please let me know your e-mail, and I will mail it to you (it's bout 300KB, so it's not long, but I cannot posted because it is more than 97KB zipped, and there is a block for mpg extensions).
Before the video was shot, I first got the light go on for about 5 seconds, then the secuence in the video. I THINK it is reading a 12, then a 13, not counting the first time the CHECK ENGINE light comes on, but I am so NOT sure, I preffer to have you guys look at it first. After the secuence, I get a 5 5 code, which is suppossed to mean there is nothing else to show (or at least I THINK it is a 5 5 code!).
By the way, is there any reader out there that will work with this computer and that will not cost a fortune? I know the '96 and above readers are about $100, but have not seen any for my car...
Can you guys help me with this? Maybe I will FINALLY figure out what the problem is!
Felipe

Re: Check Engine Code Help
I don't think your JEEP is going to be too happy with you for very long. You and your JEEP might not have a great relationship very soon if you don't give it the respect it deserves. Bounty pointed this problem out before, anyone else see the same thing I do?
(I'm only crackin jokes, so don't worry if this is over your head)

Re: Check Engine Code Help
OK, OK, so I ran out of words for Jeep... It's my English Teacher's fault;l he's the one that tought me you have to not repeat the words too many times, and I have used Jeep, Rig, and beast much too often.
Then again, I can always use the excuse that english is not my first language!
But I think I'll go with "I'll apologize to my Jeep" way!

Re: Check Engine Code Help
Mud,
I kind of caught myself in the act (after I did it, anyway), but figured it would slip by. I guess you are all paying more attention to my posts than I thought! HAHAHA!

Mud,
It seems the Jeep (ie. NOT A CAR!) accepted my apologies, as it is running smoothly now! GO FIGURE!

Re: Check Engine Code Help
Thanks, aw, but I already got myself a code scanner that not only reads my Jeep (pre OBD II, since it is before 1996), but OBDIIs and other pre '96 cars as well...

Re: Check Engine Code Help
IIRC, a code 13 is for the o2 sensor. Can your scanner read the o2 data or fuel trim? If o2 voltage is stuck high the PCM will lean out the fuel (shorter injector pulse width), which may explain the sputter at 4k rpm. The O2 should switch regularly above and below .45v.
