Oil filters

where can i find an oil filter for a 1949 cj 3a? i know im not going to be able to walk into some random automotive shop and buy it. i have a few website's where i could look around on but i was wondering if anyone here knows if you can really find it in store. also, im planning to through in a big v6 some time and im wondering if automatic is the way to go, to me it seems like the smartest thing. i would throw in a nice shift kit with it what do u guys have?

Re: Oil filters

I prefer Hastings myself, although I don't know if it's available for your early jeep.
