well she bought me a winch
my wife bought me a winch for the fron of the jeep. its a b day preasent. gotta love that woman. so its a mile marker E9000 . has anyone mounted the solenoid box under the hood for a cleaner look on the front end? the on off switch is mounted in it but i dont want to have to pop the hood to turn on the winch. hmmm what to do. any suggestions? thanks guys

Doh, I must remember that there are 2 different kinds of winches and not everyone lives in the gutter like I do.

Drill a hole through the firewall and connect the remote . then put it in or through the glove box.

yes she is a keeper, thanks twisted.
currupt, great site but i just rewired my jeep from the ground up last month. i wish i had that site befor i started buying switches and relays . lol thanks though
yjdave i put a flat dash in and didnt put in a glovebox. never realy used it .but still a workable idea. thanks guys

Slo,
You can always leave the winch on and use a switch on the dash to activate a relay and feed electricity to the winch from the cab... I dont know how many amps a winch will pull, or if there is a relay that can handle it, but just a thought...
