Re: Opinions on Lockers
I love my Ox Locker. You don't say which axle you're putting a locker on or what kind of trails you'll be taking it on, but an Ox is hard to beat. The great thing about the Ox among the three you listed is that it's selectable--on when you need it, off when you don't. That's certainly an advantage when driving on pavement. I've had my Ox on my front axle for more than five years now, and had no problems out of it.

Re: Opinions on Lockers
I just switched from a detroit soft locker to an auburn ECTED. It was definitely a nice upgrade. It is limslip when off and when on, it is fully locked.

Re: Opinions on Lockers
I noticed that you didn't list ARB's, just noting that I have been running ARB's for years now with no problems. The only advantage there is you now have an on-board source of air. I would suggest you look into any that are selectable type of lockers for two reasons.
1 you have the ability to un-lock them on the trail giving you a tighter turn radius.
2 They are unlocked for on the road driving, easing the strain on the rear axle and tires while driving to and from the trail head. Plus and open rear will save you some gas with on-road driving.

Re: Opinions on Lockers
You're right ARB is another great locker. I just prefer to have onboard air that I can use to rapidly fill tires and run air tools on the trail. That is why I'm installing a York A/C compressor into my TJ.
I also cannot see the gas mileage increasing that much due to having an open diff. I also like to have limited slip for street driving as well.
Everyone has their preferences though. I used to know of a chart online that showed which lockers did what. It was a great tutorial for guys just getting into them.

Re: Opinions on Lockers
I dont have lockers, but from what I have read, the only bad thing about the ECTED is that they have many small parts that can break when high-torque is applied to them (that was in JP magazine some months ago). Dont know how true that is, though... But they do test them with bigger engines than what I plan to put in my Jeep!

Re: Opinions on Lockers
the best system is the call around system...call around to the local shops where you wheel the most (Moab for me) and ask for replacement parts for the lockers your thinking of buying...if they don't have them...be worried because that is most likely where your going to break them.
I can find almost every ARB replacement parts around Moab.

Re: Opinions on Lockers
ECTED is Electrical...
ECTED = Electronically Controlled Traction Enhancing Differential
