which axles do i need for a cj7

ok I just bought a 1985 cj7 with the stock axles but much bigger tires ... and I can't get into 5th gear with out losing speeding and adventually dying and I need more torque to turn the tires ... from stock ... which axles should I get that would be better
please help

What size tires are on it now?

You don't necessarily need different axles unless they're not strong enough for that tire size and for how you use the jeep. You can regear the stock axles to a certain point to regain that lost performance.

Crawl under the jeep and look for a tag attached to one of the diff cover bolts, either axle. Let us know the numbers on the tag and it should contain your axle ratio. We can recommend a good gear ratio to regear to with that number and your current tire size.
