AX15 bearing

Attempted to pull the rear bearing from the input shaft today using a press and bearing splitter. First the splitter wouldn't fit between the bearing and first gear. There is a very small amount of separation to work with there. We finally got it to grip. Next we applied the 25 ton press. The splitter bent, then broke, and the bearing is still sitting there laughing at us. Any suggestions?
