Question VIN Number 10th digit ?

I was told that the 10th digit of the Vin # is the year of the vehicle!
Thus if the 10th digit is a 2 the vehicle would be a 2002 etc..
The 10th digit of the wreck I just bought is a Y what year would that be???
Jim

Re: VIN Number 10th digit ?

try this:

JEEP VIN Decoder 1.64

if it doesn't work, just google jeep vin decoder. you will eventually figure it out.
