Cj overheating
Temp guage is indicating my 82 cj is overheating. stock 4.2. New waterpump, t-stat, flushed the system and new coolant, checked timing. Im beginning to think the gauge or sendeing unit is on the fritz. gauge will rise slowly just into the green, then quickly to the peg, any ideas?

I don't think the temperature could rise quite that quickly, even if it were idling. I would say try a new gauge. I don't think they're very expensive.
