360 pulley alignment problems?
ok.... a little explaning so there are no mistakes as to problem or bogus replies......
changing out my 360 in an 82 cj. bought a motor(from 78 wagoneer) to replace motor( year unknown).... motor swap went fine! i am using the water pump, crank pulley, water pump pulley, fuel pump, basicaly the entire front of engine from my old motor ok.... everything is going great untill i put the water pumpp pulley on and it doesn't line up with the crankk pulley( to far foward by an 1/8" if that).... so the ? i have is if i used old water pump and all pulleys why am i having this problem? ( casting numbers on the crank pulleys r the same by the way) only thing i can think of is the dampner is diff? any help from u guys? this is my first amc motor experience.... although i love the torque i've never built one untill now... thanks for reading this really long thread!
