Leaky Plastic Valve Cover
I have an 84 cj8 with the 258 inline 6 cyl equiped with the plastic valve cover. And of course it leaks. (i would like to have 5 minutes with the person that designed it)!! Right now I don't have the money to get a new alum. cover. If I get a new gasket is there any tricks to installing it so it won't leak for a while until I can get a new valve cover. Thanks for any help you have.

Maybe you could just buy some good RTV and pile it on. Make sure that if you do that, every surface for the RTV is clean with no oil. That would probably save the time and money to buy a paper gasket until you get a nice aluminum cover. I'm no expert, though.
