Getting ready for the AX 15 swap! Finally!

Just picked up an external slave AX 15 and NP 231 J t-case on ebay for $500. Never had a tranny with an external slave before. I am going to change the throwout bearing while its on my jack. Do I have to grease up the tube that goes around the input shaft? Like I said, I am used to the internal slave setups. Done them plenty of times. Any other tips befor I do the swap?? Sounds like you have it set. I'm doing the same in the spring with my '82 J10 stepside with a 304/NP208J

use a small amout. Just enough to put a film on it so you aren't slinging grease around in there. One thing I did when I did my upgrade was get a complete master and slave setup. Find ya a good donor or you can get it new pre-bled as I did.
