no clue where to start??

i just installed a BL and MML on my jeep that had 4" of lift and 33's.
I took my horrible TC drop out and triple checked everything, everything is tight, and solid, however i now have some clunking sounds when in drive and giving alittle gas and letting off quick, it doenst make this clunk sound when in park and giving the engine some gas, so its just in drive. with or without a load cause i jacked it up and put in drive and same thing happens.. have no clue where to start, it sounds as if its coming from back of motor, trans, or transfer case area.
I also noticed some mild-to heavy vibes around 60mph, which i thought by adding the MML and being able to take out the TC drop would have solved any of that.. Also i didnt even take the TC drop all the way out, i left some small spacers in there just to be safe, should i add some more, take it all out??? need some ideas, i have tried to find this for 2 days now?? thanks

Re: no clue where to start??

My guess would be dirveline is not at the proper angles. Have you checked this? Are you using a Cv shaft with SYE, or the stock setup?

Re: no clue where to start??

driveline is stock setup, i have looked into the SYE and getting prices as we speak, however i have spoke with a few local shops and there telling me they dont do the SYE for a 4" lift, or " my setup" they do transfer case drop, and 2 of the shops told me they just do the adjus. trac bars, and tilt the rearend up alittle bit and that solves everything, so far this is not working out the way i wanted

Re: no clue where to start??

The SYE you can do yourself if you have the time. There is only one specialty tool (other than a torque wrench), which can determine how long it takes to do, and that is the snap-ring plier. Get the one with the duck nose on it, they'll save a couple of hours worth of work... When you do a SYE, however, you also have to adjust the pinion alngle of the rear axle, and this is why the shops are telling you they dont do it...

Now, with a 4" lift, you need either the SYE or the TC drop (I am not sure if with the 1" MML you would still need it, though). Otherwise, the angles will simple not line up. I strongly recommend the SYE, but you need to find someone with welding experience to remove the old rear spring perches and weld in new ones. If you can do it yourself, you'll save some moeny, otherwise you need to get it done.

If you dont know anyone to do a SYE and pinion adjustment, stick to the TC drop...

I'd bet this is the root of your problem...
