My cold natured YJ

I have had this 89 Sahara for a few days now. One thing I dont like is it really is cold natured. It takes forever to start when cold. I press the pedal fully one time and crank and crank and crank.....sometimes it wants to turn over. When it finally does it runs great! But getting it there is really annoying! Is this just part of life of a YJ. Or does the carb need adjusting? I hate carbed vehicles! HAHA

I have also noticed that when it is facing down hill it will miss and want to stall sometimes. It does not when facing uphill. Otherwise the truck has been a lot of fun!

Try pumping the peddle twice, and hold it only 3/4 of the way down, and NO CUSSING!!! talk sweet to it.

Re: My cold natured YJ

Sounds like the float level may need adjusting. Are you still running the stock carter BBD?

Swapping that for an MC2100 is the hot ticket. Cheap too, if you rebuild one from a junkyard. less than $100.00 for me including the adapter & chrome air cleaner.

Re: My cold natured YJ

Is there a good write up on that 2100 swap? It sounds like a more reliable set up!
