jeep yj distributor questions

Good day everyone,

First time on this forum and already found alot of great information.

Anyways I have a question regarding the hook up of the vacuum advance on the 4.2 engine. Now the tricky part, I bought the vehicle uncompleted and now its up and running good, but the previous owner has the vaccum advance line connection to the air intake tube.
Details of the vehicle: 1989 jeep YJ with 4.2block and 4.0 head and fuel injected controlling the fueling is a megasquirt computer.
From my understanding the vacuum advance is normally connected to the carb on the 4.2.
Can the system be plugged.

I'm not sure if it can be plugged or not, but here's the way it was originally hooked up
