Carpet
The carpet in my Jeep is looking pretty worn, what have you guys done to yours? Are there any good carpet replacement kits or spray in liners?
Thanks

Re: Carpet
I've run without carpet, with carpet, and with a roll on bed liner. I like carpet the best. I used black bedliner, and it would get hot in the sun, and showed dust / dirt easily. Obviously the carpet would get wet in the rain, but just leave the top off and it'll dry out.
At $122 this carpet kit is not much more expensive than rolling on your own bedliner

Re: Carpet
I got rid of the carpet several years ago. I rolled on Herculiner and like it better.

Re: Carpet
Pulled out carpet. Bought some beer
Sold carpet to finance the roll on bedliner project.
Bought beer instead. Don't miss the carpet. Don't miss the bedliner either.
Miss the beer though.

Re: Carpet
Take the carpet out. Take the doors/windows/flap off. Pull floor plugs. Put trash bags over driver seat. Wait for rain. Jeep floor clean. No carpet to hold moisture. <insert smiley face> I've ran without anything on the floor for a couple of years now. In the spring, I take the doors off, rear-side windows off, and rear window out. I put them back on when it gets cold. I don't even cover the seats anymore. It gets wet.......it drys. I can get a downpour the evening before, and have dry seats the next day. I keep saying I'm going to liner it, but what I have keeps working...no rust yet. Just keep the rug out of it and you'll be fine.

Re: Carpet
I sprayed in Upol Raptor Bedliner which was easy to apply and holds up not quite as well as the Rhinoliner but at $115 the price is hard to beat.... I've run with and without carpet and always keep my eye on Craigslist for OEM carpeting that people are trying to get rid of. A set of OEM carpet last me about 10 years easy before it starts really looking bad.... aftermarket isn't so good... Carpet is more comfortable year round here in the NW where we have a variety of seasons....

Re: Carpet
I left my carpet out and rolled on the Plastikote Bedliner in that I had bought to roll my Bass boat trailer. Worked like a charm and I personally wouldn't have carpet in a Jeep.

Re: Carpet
Does pulling the carpet increase noise by a bit? I'm thinking of putting in Herculiner or something similar.

Re: Carpet
I would think you would get a little more road noise, but I have a soft top and did not notice any difference at all.

Re: Carpet
It depends on what your application is. If you just use your jeep as a daily driver I'd say replace the carpet. If you use it as a daily driver and a toy rip it out and line the floor. I have the floor rhino lined and the only problem I ever have is heat from the Florida sun baking it all day. That and engine heat coming up from the floor boards and firewall.
