    Which hardtop

I have a 2006 Rubicon that needs a hard top. I'm looking at Smittybuilt and Bestop. Is one better than the other? Used ones are hard to find in good shape in Texas.

    Re: Which hardtop

Dont do what I did; I went with the cheap hardtop, and now I regreat it. First off, mine (which is a Pavement Ends, also made by Bestop, but the cheapo version!) does not have the vents behind the rear windows. This means, every time you close the door with the vent off, you have to slam the door because there is no way for the air inside the Jeep to escape. This in turn affects other things, such as the rear window hinges, which tend to start leaking to let the air out. I have had to use foam weatehrstrip tape all over the top to take care of the leaking I have had. I finally have it under control, but if I were to do the Jeep over again, i would just spend the dough on the bestop one and call it good!

Personally, I would try to find a nice but used factory top rather than a new one.

The vents do in fact work.

I beleive that Bestop also has the hardtop manufacturing contract for Chrysler.

I think so too; I'm pretty sure they have the soft tops as well.
