OK so the first cj to come to life was the cj2b and so on....this happened in 1945. Well i came up with an idea that i think EVERYONE on the jeep website might agree on. for the cj's 60 yrs of birth (2005)...they should have a 60th anniversary CJ7 return for a year. That's right the 2005 edition CJ7. This brief return would feature all the cool benefits of a cj with a couple improvements on the old cj's design...you know all 2 of their flaws...lol...
-improved body...the #1 problem with cj's...any of the original ones still around that were really jeeped are rotted out if not destroyed down to the frame. They should galvanize the body as they did the wrangler for better durability against rust and strengthen the points they always broke at.
-I hate to say this but yes...a 4.0l engine...they would never bring back the 4.2 for a year and they would prolly have to drop in an mpi kit to make it smog legal in cali and stuff like that...so no choice there.
-Improved handling...those old springs just don't do it for roll problems...crash test ratings would kill jeep....so yup throw on a couple wrangler (yj) springs (and a good stabilizer)...flatter, softer, and besides way better flex.
-of course throw in the original renegade package... no not for the cool decals they had...but for all the little things they threw in to make life easier...both hard and soft tops, intermittent wipers, side steps (for the ladies) and all the other tiny features that no one will realize they need until they need it.
Otherwise keep it CJ...that good old look will attract thousands upon thousands of cj buffs...including myself...
If you look at it...this little project would cost nothing...besides chrysler has the money, and the profit would be outstanding...what you guys think?...should i send them a letter???...
Think about it...how many of you would buy the 2005 Jeep Cj Renegade Edition? I would!...Beefy [addsig]

that is a great idea.... but the production would be so limited they would be alot more expensive than a rubicon...

I think they are bringing back a Scrambler type Jeep sometime next year...that's going to be cool. But I'm all for the retro style Jeep...a modern performing Jeep...with a flat dash, large chrome circular gagues, pull knobs...the works.[addsig]

American Expadition Vehicles Makes a TJ called the Brute. It is built off the rubicon platform, but you can supply your own TJ and they retro fitit to look like a scrambler (CJ The only difference is that the bed is detatched similar to a pick up. The web site is http://www.aev-conversions.com/ Check it out.[addsig]

It would be great, but dealing with the new owners of Jeep???
If they shut down good ol HardcoreJeep, what's to keep them from having the fatherland sic their lawyers on this site - hey, weather you show all of them or not, they are still the one and only Jeepbabes!!
It's a great, although idealist idea, bring the CJ back with improvements, but until Jeep comes back, and the profits stop going a company that built tanks for Hitler, it's not worth supporting.[addsig]

Man that AEV stuff is crazy cool!!!!! I've seen the long wheel base TJ they do, but the Brute is one cool mother. I wish they had the pricing up for it. [addsig]
