when i did mine, i used the 75w-90 gear oil (*because thats what my haynes manual said to use), and it worked fine. had to use a sucker thingy from NAPA to suck the old oil out of the diff (looked more like i was jerking it off... but anyways... :-O ) cost about 5 bucks per axle, definetely a worthwhile investment. the old oil that i sucked out was all old and sludgy looking. quite gross.

rather than sucking it out... i prefer to take off the cover... that way, you get it all out of there, you can clean your gears, and you can inspect to see if everything is alright in there... then use some rtv or similar gasket material to replace it. then just pump it back in, or use a hose to pour it in... you actually do more waiting than anything that way[addsig]

brake cleaner, just spray while someone is spinning the tires (on jack stands needless to say) and let it evaporate[addsig]

Use the 75-90 but do yourself a favor use a good synthenic like royal purple, amsoil you will pay a little more but it is worth it.[addsig]
