I have to replace the hood on my YJ and was wondering if a CJ hood and grill will work? Do I need to get CJ fenders also?[addsig]

Howdy and welcome! Please do not take this wrong but why would you want to change it out for something else? Keep a YJ an Yj and a CJ a CJ and just enjoy the ride. Tug[addsig]

Hello,Please do not feel like you need to be part of the CJ crowd. There are alot more things you can do with a YJ. I have owned 3 CJ and i would not trade my Yj for any of them now.The Yj is based on the first Jeep made and there are alot more options available for it. So please be proud of your Yj. [addsig]

Don't listen to these naysayers, of course you want your YJ to look like a CJ!

Seriously though, I have seen it done, but you do have to replace the fenders too if I'm not mistaken... I'll see if I can dig a link up or something.

I bet you could get away with keeping the fenders, but you might have some fitment problems that would be resolved with a sledge and mallot. If you're going to turn this into a serious crawler, then I would look into the one piece hoods that do away with the fenders all together and incorporate them into the hood. But then you've opened a new can of worms.

Just stick with the square and stop making us YJ owners look bad. It IS hip to be square. So be square and proud. [addsig]
