what are wheel bearings?also what kind of noise do they make when they don't work?does anyone know if that transfer case is being use while not in 4wd.[addsig]

Front wheel bearings are in a sealed hub assembly, when they go bad you'll be able to rock the tire when holding it at 12 and 6. They are held onto the axleshaft with a 36mm axle nut, and to the knuckle by three 13mm bolts from behind the knuckle.

The transfer case works in 2wd, but just the mainshaft to the rear ouput. The front output us disengaged.[addsig]
