What size socket will I need to take off nut inside hub?
Any suggestions or help with this project appreciated. This week be my first time to try changing wheel bearings on front hubs.

yep, you really need the spindle nut socket. Some people just use a flat head screwdriver and hammer and place the screw driver on one of the points of the nut and tap with the hammer, turning the nut to the left to take it off. Problem with doing that is it can chew up your spindle nut making it hard to get a socket on later (sometimes). I use this method myself but have done literally donzons of front bearings and I know what the 50ftlb,s feels like without using a torque wrench when reassembling.. You will need a torque wrench to tighten to 50ftlb,s then back it off a hair (no more than 1/4"). Best advise I can give you.... pack, pack, pack the bearings with grease! spend about 5 minutes packing eack bearing. no too tough of a job.
