Today I pulled it apart my(P.O.S)carter and pulled out the dip stick and air filter to try and find out why the jeep runs like crap, only to find that my air filter smells like gas and that my oil has a bit of gas in it.!!! :-O :-( I'm so frustrated!!! I am trying to diagnos the problem of my jeep.I think that my carb is to blame. What do you think???Well,I know this for sure, the jeep wont be running for at least a month. Im really bummed out. :-( Sully

Sounds very rich. Have you tried adjusting the mixture? You may think about getting a rebuild kit for the Carter. Inexpensive and could solve your problem. I understand your frustration. I finally got tired of being unable to make correction on the stock system and went with a Weber, got rid of the ECM, tons of wires and vacuum lines and added the TFI ugrade. The Jeep is still not where I want it performance wise but I can work on it myself. Good luck chasing the demons!
