Mopar Part Prices !!

Hey all,

Just for giggles and kicks I called my local stealership for some of their part prices, mopar of course. OMG! They are insane.

They wanted 168.00 for tow hooks front and rear and 199.00 for a standard bike rack!

<sigh>

I will look other places. I wish there were local places I could get stuff from like now not 2 weeks from now with ordering from the internet. So anyways, still looking but thought I'd share. :?

I was able to get the Mopar (5000) rated Front Tows for right at 50 bucks. You can get the Tow Hook Kits from most 4x4 part stores for around 12 bucks a pop. These you will have to remove or trim the little rubber bumpers. These after market Hooks are 10,000 rated. So, twice the strength for 1/4 the price and a little trimming.

Make sure you get the 2 hole hooks and ask the store to let you run outside and check them out and make sure the holes are right for the TJ. That will at least cover your Front.

Rear Hooks you can find on e-bay for about 30 bucks.

Just looked it up, the 119 buck thing is a set of 2 I don't understand why you can get a single for 35 bucks and a pair for 119 but that is how they have it set up.

Thank you L33, I have to find a 4x4 store near me. Pep boys, auto zone, advanced auto, none of those have stuff in stock for what I'm looking for. I will check on the hooks. I'd love to have a bike rack by this weekend for my vacation. Guess I shoulda thought of that sooner.
