Just completed rewiring my CJ and all is well except I can't remember how to wire the tach. I have a purple wire coming off the coil that has to tie in somehow, but my tach has a red wire and red w/tr coming off it. One has got to connect to the purple wire from the coil, but I don't know which, and I don't know where the other goes. Tried each wire to the purple only and no dice. Tried hooking one wire to the purple and one to 12v from ignition, but then my jeep wouldn't even start. Flipped wires on that setup and same results. Checked resistivity on the two wires on the tach and it was 0, so maybe the tach is shot. Before I go out and drop $70 on a new tach, thought I'd check with the experts....any thoughts appreciated....
