Do I use a single lip or double lip type of seal?

I just did this job. You dont really have a choice. The seal is cheap, but the job can be tough. It is a 2 piece seal. half of it is in the oilpan, the other half is in the rear crank journal.

The only good news is that you dont have to split the motor and trany to get at it.
