Anybody know where I can get a nice looking hood scoop for my YJ. I mean the kind that sits on the hood, not the cowl. I know 4wd.com has them, but who else does? I think it would look cool with the whole new engine setup!

Just about anybody that makes fiberglass body parts has a line of hood scoops. Harwood, Aero, Unlimited products, US Bodysource. Do a web search for fiberglass scoops. A cheap alternative is an ABS plastic scoop, but I don't know if they can be painted. The kind with the internal bolt flange are nice, and they are easy to install.
I just got a mopar twin inlet scoop for mine. I can't wait to get it on, but I have to make a new base for it first.

Alot of GM factory scoops had vacuum or electric motors to control flaps in the scoops. On the 80-81 Z28 the cowl induction only opened when the back barrels on the carb opened, same as on the70-72 SS Chevelle hood and others. If you get an aero or snorkle style scoop, you can run a scoop plug when you don't want it open.

That's sweet! I love aero style scoops. They just look like they were designed for a Jeep hood.

A buddy of mine picked up the plastic hood louvers from a Grand Prix, he'll be putting them on his XJ to vent all the heat under the hood. They've even got splash shields that mount under the hood, under the louvers.
