i am hearing a little sqeaking noise coming from the tire and i figure that it is a dry wheel bearing. i looked in my repair manual and it says that some later wranglers have wheel bearings that cant be greased and that you have to replace the whole assembly. i have a 2000 tj sport. can anyone help

weekend wheeling photo's
The squeaking could be the tab on you brake pads that is there to warn u when the pads are low. If it is the pads, you can bend the tabs back for a temporary fix and you should replace them asap. I believe the '87-'95 wranglers have sealed hub assemblies but im not sure about your year.

The front wheel bearings on '87+ Jeep Wranglers are non-servicable, they must be replaced as a unit. The sealed hub runs around $125 each, which is why I have about 4 used spares on hand, they come available used cheap.

some have claimed to drill a hole in the end of the hub and thread in a zirc fitting on non serviceble hubs... i'm not quite sure on how/if it would work on that though... it could be your brakes.. check that first

You can buy grease fittings at your local autoparts store. Just drill, tap, and screw that fitting in. The same thing happend to my 91, I went and bought the fittings, then the noise went away before I got around to putting them in.
