My exhaust manifold gasket has sprung a leak. When it is cold it is very noticable until the engine gets to temperature. (I have isolated to the gasket) Does anyone have any pointers or gotchas to look out for. Anything would be helpful! :?

So do you want to replace the gasket? That would be the only good solution, I just hope the header flange isn't warped... that's happend to me before, but the headers were pretty cheap. Anyways, I would just buy another gasket, take the old one off, scrape off all the old gasket of the maifold side AND head side, get some of that blue gasket sealer on there and bolt it up. Or you could just leave it, how bad can the sound be?

I plan on replacing the gasket. The sound bothers the my better half more than me. Any tricks to the removal or is it straight forward? Should I get new header bolts also? Will any type of gasket work? Thanks again!

DUMB tire question

Did you try tightening the bolts a little? Could have gotten loose.
Get the Fel Pro gaskets with the metal on one side. Another trick is to put copper anti-seize on the bolts when you put them back in. That keeps them from rusting and breaking off next time you want to take them off. Check the manifold for cracks while you have it pulled back
