I was checking out an ad for a set of 8" Jeep aluminum factory wheels. The guy e-mails me a pic of the "grizzly" style Jeep rims. I was expecting to see a set of the "canyon" style because I thought they were the only 8" factory rims Jeep made (for at least 13 years now). I thought the Grizzly wheels were 15x7. I don't know if the guy is wrong or what. Anybody have any info here?

This is one of them:

Twisted,

Those are DEFINITELY 15x7 rims. I have them. I purchased a set of 4 off e-bay for $265. The Grizzly wheels are sweet, but they are definitely 15x7. If you're looking for 8" wide, you must get the canyon wheels. There are tons of Canyon rims on e-bay for sale. I paid $65 in shipping from Oregon to S.Carolina... or from Sea to shining Sea.

I'd upload a pic for ya, but my network is down here at work... guess I ought to get started on that.

C

ps. There are 2 styles of the Grizzly wheels, silver and dark metallic. Both are 7" wide.

I believe the Canyon came in 7" and 8" widths. Nice Grizzly's BTW.

Have the seller email a pic of the rim size that is imprinted on the inside of every rim, behind the spokes.

As far as I know the Canyons only came in 15X8... also, starting with the '04 model TJ's the "Ravine" wheels replaced the Canyon wheels. The new Ravine wheels are 15X8 and you should be able to find those on eBay as well...

Yeah that's what I figured. I'll keep looking for a deal on a set of Canyons. Like I said, I thought that's what these were going to be. If anybody's interested, this guy has them posted in the For Sale forum for $200. They look pretty good for that $$$.

Have him hold the rim up on its side and take a picture of it with a measuring tape across it. Tell him you want to make sure that you and him are both measuring from the same area. This way he won't be offended or think you are doubting his ability.

Just a suggestion
