I finally got the clutch in.You shoulda seen the old clutch and fluid.Clutch was to plates jamed together it was as thin as oit could go.Fluid was blacker then black. But now ive found out my 3rd gear is shot (without takin out tranny, drivin it it grinds into 3rd and if u try to downshift in it it sounds horrible)%th is just startin to do it u can feel it in the stick but it dont really make any noise. Would u sugest a used tranny or buy the gears and parts to fix. At our local jeep shop he said the last treanny they did it only cost 300 bux to get 3 gears done i only need one mayb two. Is it worth it u think or what u guys tell me.

Also my exhaust is all f'd up. Hole in the exhaust down pipes cut all that. So doe sany1 have an exhaust sytem for sale or no a good one to get?Let me know.

Changing the tranny gear oil to Redline MT90 may give you 3rd gear back and really smooth up those shifts. It's a synthetic gear oil specially formulated to be easy on the soft brass synchronizers in your tranny that the GL5 oil has already nearly ruined.

Change now and you may be able to put off a costly rebuild/replacement for quite some time.

i'm with bounty... the specialty oils will make a big difference... or take a stab with penn synmesh for $20... and see if that helps... if it does... then the redline will be well worth your money

As bad as he describes 3rd gear, I'd go all the way and get the Redline. May be your only chance at saving this ailing tranny.
