GLJT 4th Annual TOYS FOR TOTS and Xmas Party

This is the 4th year of GLJT and friends helping out the marine corps to raise toys for the less fortunate in Chicago. Raise all the toys you can, download the flyer, hand it out to friends, lets beat last years attendance, and decorate those 4x4's!! (best decorated 4x4 contest in the works!)

Starting point for the parade route is 1600 S. Lake Shore Drive. Coming up Lake Shore Drive from the south exit 18th drive and drive under LSD. There are 2 empty lots. One to your left and one to your right. Thats where we'll be.

Once the group is gathered, we'll line up and begin our drive north on LSD. We'll travel in a line in the right hand lane along the lake, to the north side and exit on Foster. This will be our north side stopping point. This will be a great photo opportunity with a group this large. So when everybody parks, pack em in tight so we can get good group shots! There is a Mcdonalds close by on Foster for bathroom or food breaks.

The caravan of 4x4's will once again get on it's way, westbound on Foster. Stopping point and drop-off to the marines will be the Irene C. Hernandez family picnic grove on Foster. It intersects at Foster and Kilbourne, just after Kostner. The marine corps will be meeting us there to pick up the toys. I can't wait to see the reaction we get with this many vehicles and people donating toys. FYI, Toys for Tots has had a shortage of toys as of late. Together we can make a difference for such an important charity. This of course will be the best point for PLENTY of pictures!

GLJT X-mas Party!

GLJT's Toys for Tots would not be complete without our Christmas party! Right after the parade route and drop-off will be our christmas party (all are welcome of course). This year will take place at the Innjoy.... 2501 W. Division St. Chicago IL. 60622. The group will get on the highway from Foster and head south to the Division St. exit. All attendees for Toys for Tots are encourged to join us! Food, drinks, free parking, big screen TV, and great company!
