Moabgiving or is Thanksmoab
Either way we are continuing our Thanksgiving tradition and having Thanksgiving dinner at the Moab Brewery (dinner starts serving at 2 pm)
Oh and since we are down there...we are going off roading. From 11/23/06 through 11/26/06.
I know, I know your all saying but what about the family?
Tell me the truth...what would you rather do? Spend the day with Aunt Guirdy as she snoops around your house and nit pics your china and silverware. The bi*ch about how bad the food was or spend the day with slick rock below your jeep.
If you answer spending the day with Auntie, stop reading now, close your browser and sell off your Jeep because your not a real jeeper.
All the rooms are cheep (off season), nothing big is happening so all the trails are open and clear of tourista's.
And the number one reason to spend Thanksgiving in Moab....there is never a wait at the Moab Brewery for 1$ beers.
We are dropping down Wendsady evening, and hitting the trails bright and early. If your intrested in joining us give a shout and we will send ya a PM.

Re: Moabgiving or is Thanksmoab
Wish I could be there for the $1 beers, if nothing else!!!
Unfortunately (or fortunately, I guess), we're heading back to the NC mountains for Turkey Day!! We're both counting the days........haven't been back since August. Sometimes I hate being a construction gypsy.

and shoot yourself in face,... I'll even send you the bullet....
I'm going to give it a shot Utah,... I don't want to drive the Jeep all the way up there. My buddy is talking about going and towing my rig with his Deisel,... if he comes through then we're there.

Re: Moabgiving or is Thanksmoab
Here in Michigan, we all like to go wheeling at the Mounds ORV park in the AM, then convene with family at dinnertime...
so I'm kinda hoping I'll be getting stuck in the mud and late

Two gentlemen from my club expressed interest, I told them I needed to check with you first. Do you mind 2 more rigs? They are good fellas, responsible and farily low key.

Re: Moabgiving or is Thanksmoab
Darn Gone we could have used a few more. Well to rub it in it was a nice warm weekend. Temps in the mid 60's. Some of the trails were packed with cyclists and tourists. I dont think there was an open hotel room down there this weekend.
We did Cliffhanger, fins, hells revenger, steelbender,Moab Rim, and the winners of the most stupidest idea ever award...Pritchet Canyon at night after spending several hours at the Brewery.
Trail damage, one clutch 97 TJ, two short shafts on the XJ's, and broken sterring box on a YJ, and I broke my compressor mounting plate, shook it so bad I pulled all of the nut rivets out of the mounting plate.

Re: Moabgiving or is Thanksmoab
I can see by the lack of those interested in joining us down in Moab...again this year that over eating turkey and letting auntie dear snoop around your place is more exciting than rock crawling.
oh did I tell you about the 1$ beers again this year?
Come on peeps you got the time off and this might be the last time you get to do Moab if the tree huggers have anything to say about it.
Rooms are only 45$ a night!

Re: Moabgiving or is Thanksmoab
I just gave orbitz.com a try and they are showing most hotels as "No Rooms Available" now.
Is it a bookin' town over the holiday weekend?

Re: Moabgiving or is Thanksmoab
Call direct Cewtwo, might have better luck, well its T minus 6 hours and counting.
The trails are Cliffhanger, hell's revenge, Metal Masher, Monitor/ Merrimac and connecting through 7 mile rim and if we have time a quick dash through Bull Canyon.
We are staying at the Ramada inn, just look for the orange jeep, or shoot me a private message and I will try and plug the lap top in when i get down there.

Re: Moabgiving or is Thanksmoab
I always liked Metal Masher for the widowmaker. I found the approach precarious and the wall itself a real challenge!
God rides! Sounds like you will have fun!
