the nv241 is in the new rubi's i was also told that there in the dodge trucks the heavy duty trucks, dotn know tryin to find out tho

no i dont think so, didnt hear that they were but i know that they are heavy duty and are supposed to be stronger than the NP231, not like i hear about NP 231"s going bad that often, there pretty good T-cases.

Loose chain. High Miles. All fixed now.
Put on 1000 mi. or so since that happened.
Truck likes to hop when loosing traction, may of had the chain hitting the case, or jumped a tooth.

My 88 Chev, 4X, 31" tires, K1500 PU, has the NP 241, 5.7 liter, 225 Horses stock ( a little more now) and a whole bunch more torque, than the Jeep. Have broken more than a few driveline pieces, but the transfer is still doing OK, after 16 years of occasional serious abuse.

My dad has the 241 transfercase in his 99 TJ. He didnt have to do an SYE or a 4.1 because the 241 already has 4.1 and it has a different output shaft. Gotta love that 4.1!
