The PVC valve on top of my 1989 Jeep Wagoneer's straight 6 valve cover seems to be leaking oil, looks as though the thing is worn out. I figured that just the portion with the gromet would come off the hose that feeds into the air breather, but it doesn't seem to want to slip off, appears to be one piece. Should I just cut off the portion that goes into the valve cover and buy a new PVC valve to slip over the hose? How does the PVC valve come from an auto parts store, as one small piece that fits over the hose or the entire hose that fits into the air breather? Just wanting to replace the thing with minimal effort?

I believe the piece your talking about is the scavenger tube, itīs hollow and I donīt believe there is any valve in there. Unless itīs rotten and falling apart, just lift up the lip a little, clean with some solvent and put a bead of silicon gasket sealer in there.[addsig]
