Best lift to get?
Ok, I have been on this forum for a year and a half. I have changed my avatar several times in the past. I deleted my old one and have tried numerous time to upload another one from my machine or link to the file I have hosted on my server.
I am using a 75 by 75 pixel file that is way under the 6KB size limit( I think 5.4 KB), I have tryed JPG and GIF,
When I try to upload from my machine I get about 5 warning messages saying no permission or somthing to that effect. Then when I try to link to the file on my server it does not give any messages, it just does not take the change.
Puzzled

Do you still have them?
Can you show us your avatar? That may help.
I've had that problme, and I've always had to make the pic on pixel smaller and slightly less in memory size.

It won't work no matter what avatar I try.
I have tried at least 10 different ones. the only ones I get to work are the ones in our gallery.
I have tried sizes from 3.5kb up to 6, different formats, jpg, gif. Nothing.
Here is the message I get when I try to upload from my machine.

Hey, me too!!!!!! Was just trying to swap avatars today and nothing!!!!!!! I get the same error messages and the same (none) results when I try to upload from my machine or to use an url to upload.....what gives, Mingez the Mangler?

Thank God that someone else has the same problems. I thunk I was going crazy.

I've seen this on other forums, I think site admin has turned off the feature. If you already had one, great, if you are new or just try and change yours, it has you locked out. At least that is my theory.
